Equity appeal
Another name for a uniformity appeal — you are assessed above comparable properties.
Boards and assessors use 'equity' and 'uniformity' more or less interchangeably. Both mean the same argument: not that the assessor's number is wrong in the abstract, but that it is out of line with how the same assessor treated similar properties.
The advantage is that the county's own assessment roll is your evidence. You are not asking anybody to accept an outside opinion of value.
